The mission of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is to love God and love our neighbor.
These are just a few ways in which we do that.
Adopt a Block – Adopt a Block aims to connect Millville one block at a time. Every third Saturday of the month we gather with other churches and organizations to meet the people living in Center City, the neighborhood where St. Paul’s sits, and physically improve the appearance of our neighborhood (pick up trash, plant flowers etc.).
Family Promise – St. Paul’s serves as a Host Congregation for homeless children and their families through the work of Family Promise of Cumberland County. Working together with many other congregations in the county, we host families about four times a year.
God’s Helping Hands – This group gathers monthly on a Thursday morning for Bible Study using the magazine Gather, produced by the Women of the ELCA. This group also does various projects throughout the year that show love for people locally and globally. A few examples include making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and making cookies or bread for homebound people in the community.
Various Hunger Ministries – St. Paul’s support several organizations that are working for the eradication of hunger both locally and world-wide. Locally, we support the Help and Hope Food Closet, we participate in the annual Souper Bowl of Caring and we regularly contribute to the work of ELCA World Hunger. During Lent this year our youth will lead us in participating in the ELCA's World Hunger's Walk for Water.
