What can I expect on a Sunday Morning?
We strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere at St. Paul's. You will notice people gathering and checking in with each other before the service starts. As the beginning of worship we share announcements and church news; we share the congregation’s joys and concerns so that we can lift them to God in prayer; we sing hymns together as well as listen to our choir; we read the Bible and talk about it through the sermon; we collect an offering to further God’s work and we share in Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month as well as on special church festivals throughout the year. We believe that God calls us together each and every Sunday and promises to come to us in worship. After worship has ended again people will linger to talk with one another and on the 4th Sunday of the month we have a coffee hour downstairs.
Where is the church located?
St. Paul's is located at 301 North Third Street in Millville, NJ. Click here for directions and a map.
Where should I park?
We have off-street parking available in the parking lots on either side of the railroad tracks on Third Street. Street parking is also available.
Where should I enter the building?
Look for the big red doors! The sanctuary entrance is located on Mulberry Street. Once you're inside, a person will greet you and will be able to answer any questions you may have. There are also red doors on 3rd St. If you enter there, go up the flight of stairs and down the hallway. A right turn half way down the hallway will get you into the sanctuary.
What should I wear?
People dress in a variety of ways – from jeans to shirt and tie. Most people wear what would be considered “dressy casual” clothing. We believe the most important part about Sunday morning is showing up, ready to worship God. Please wear what is comfortable for you.
What are the people of St. Paul's like?
We’ve frequently been told by visitors that we’re friendly. People will certainly try to help you if you look lost, but folks aren’t intrusive, and we promise you will not be asked to stand up and introduce yourself. There are some people who will be eager to learn about you and others that will give you more space.
Are my children welcome?
Absolutely!! We encourage families to bring their children into the worship service. Children are a special part of our congregation and we value them as full participants in the life of our church. Sunday School classes for children (preschool through the 12th grade) begin at 9:45 a.m. Children are then welcome and encouraged to join their families during Sunday worship beginning at 11:00 a.m. If at any point you feel you need to step out, we have a nursery with toys and books. There are speakers in that room so you can continue to hear what is happening.
Is there Sunday School?
Yes! There is Sunday School for both children and adults every week during the school year beginning at 9:45 am.
I’m ________________. Will I really be welcome at St. Paul's? Fill in the blank with: divorced, married, single, gay, heterosexual, lesbian, conservative, liberal, old, young, a tourist, transgender, agnostic, poor, wealthy, funny-looking, etc.
