History of St Paul's Lutheran Church
The story of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Millville, New Jersey, is seen by those who contributed to the production of this history as congruent with the story of America. The founders of this church no doubt had their own good and sound reasons for leaving their homeland and coming to settle in this small South Jersey town.
St. Paul’s congregation was organized in 1858. St. Paul’s was known as the ‘glassblower’s church’ for its large number of German glassblower attendees. In 1867, a small church was erected on the northeast corner of Third and Mulberry Streets, then enlarged in 1906, which we still worship in today. The history of our church is a never ending story and continues to be written every day. Keep checking back for updates.
